78 928 4,7 man transmission trouble

Hi, my 2 and 3 gear is grinding when downshifting so i guess it is time to do the synckro rings. If anybody have done this rebuild before, it would be great to get some tip about:

Is there a manual out there? ( i have tried to follow the link provided here at the forum earlier, but all the pictures in the tread are gone)

Is there any other parts i should change when i do the Minor rebuild?

Do anyone know if some one sell like a rebuild sett ?

I would give serious consideration to buying a newer transmission, an 85+ with the Borg synchros.

Make sure you don't have any clutch issues.

Rennlist has a couple good trans rebuild threads for an early transmission, but the two options are to replace many items, or find someone with the experience to accurately distinguish between good and worn parts. Some of the parts, like the input bearing are costly, but its not a small job so you may want to err on the safe side and replace all the bearings, synchros, and dog teeth.

Hi, great that u responded, i have mailed with 928 inl and waiting now to on the respond from them, but the shipping to Norway might be to pricey so if it hits $$ 2 - 3 k to get the transmission, i rather try to change the sync rings and gaskets, i also have to adjust the lim slip dif pin i think...
