Really? I had 3 of them. One I sold through RL and the other I packaged with this smog stuff. Going to Canada. The other is on my car.

The smog pump delete pulley and bracket are unecessary. I made a few sets of spacers to bring the fan out so that it runs on the next rib on the pulley. The same rib as the power steering pump. This allows you to use a longer belt to drive the pump and fan. The PS pump tensions the belt. This is a better solution than using the short belt that isn't able to be tensioned and is a heck of alot cheaper than a $300 pulley thats NLA. I've been running this setup on all three of my 928's for years without issue. Contact me if interested.

I can contact the buyer of the smog equipment if you are interested and see if he is willing to sell the pulley if he purchased the package for the pump and plumbing.

Hi guys. It's not a secret. I pretty much explained everything in my post. I just spaced out the fan so that it lines up with the next rib on the pulley. So the fan sits roughly 1/2" more towards the front of the car. The only custom parts are the machined spacers. All thats needed to do this is three machined spacers, three longer bolts and one longer belt. I'll try to get a measurement on the spacers and the part # from the belt for you. If you guys want me to make a run of "kits" I can do it. It's not a problem. I made a couple of sets last time but I used them all myself becasue my car collection kept growing. LOL

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I have hookups with a machine shop if you could tell me the offset you and belt length it would save me a lot of time.

I just made a video showing the mod and in that video I read the # from the belt. I'm uploading it to Youtube now. The spacers are 17mm thick. Just do me a favor and give me credit for it if someone else sees it and thinks it's a good idea. Maybe we can call it "the Fabio mod" LOL

What about clearence in front of the fan towards the radiator? And is the performance of the fan the same as before?

I'll be sure to call it "the Fabio mod" to anyone who asks

The fan still has plenty of clearance. Like INCHES of clearance. I haven't noticed any degradation of cooling. In fact, I'm running this mod on my turbo car and the gauge never even reached the line at 2/3. The temp needle stayle just a little above halfway on the gauge. I'd say that's pretty solid proof that this mod doesn't cause cooling problems.

This will have to do for now. I've got a plane to catch.
