Early Radio "Receiving Part" available, useful for OB restoration?

While changing out the 20 yr old aftermarket radio on my 81 Euro S, I found an old Blaupunkt component bolted to the metal plate along the floor inside the center console, not connected to anything, which I removed.

Even though the PET diagrams show this part only through model year 1979, I'm guessing that this is the "receiving part" 911-645-165-01 from the original radio system (possibly Bamberg model, but long gone from the car).

Is there anyone out there doing a restoration that would find this part useful? I have no idea if it works now, but the original radio was working when it was swapped out 20 years ago.

If anyone asks, I'll shoot a picture when I get a chance but it looks pretty much identical to the drawing in PET for that p/n.

Most are installing newer radios with all the new features. I wonder if your part is the antenna amplifier, you may want to keep. Otherwise some had an additional amplifier but this is mounted next to the passenger seat. Yes, take a picture and post it. I also kept my old Blau but it may find its' way to the dumpster.

Here are pics of the device. Looks like part #3 in the schematic at the end to me.

Google translate "Empfangsteil" = "Receiving Part"

Thats the amplifier, the old Blaupunkt only had a low power output, and needed the extra box for the high power output for the speakers. I have one as well, when i replaced my radio years ago i installed a pioneer that needed an external amp, so used this one.

Sorry, Jim - mine is still in service
To expand on the story, my car was in a parking lot in San Jose, CA, in 1983 and it was broken into, the radio stolen. The insurance co paid for a replacement, and they put in a Pioneer head unit, that used the Blau amp.
It is still working fine to this day!

I knew Jim would be on this one! I would have taken it if Jim had not jumped on it... Might go back to stock (if we can find the head unit) on my SUPER EARLY '78 (though no where NEAR as early as Jim's two treasures)!
