wood fuse panel door

can anyone show me a pic of the screws or bolts, washers, or whatever those crazy Germans used to hold the small piece of wood that the fuse panel door sits on.

Mine did not come with it, and I don't see anything on the parts disc.

thanks,

When did the changeover to studs happen? In my 89, this board slips over two M6 studs that are on a bracket under the CE panel. And you fasten it down with M6 nuts and flat washers. I can't find any indication of the hardware for any year in PET. PET does show a changeover in that board in 84.

I always imagined cutting this board had to be the lowliest job in the plant. Plywood.

Mine has studs/nuts, and I think you're right about the cutting-job. Maybe the guy who designed the blower box got the job after his knee shells had been shot to bits for being an idiot.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

Landseer, you must be an engineer or surveyor maybe? I see you have an old HP 10c series calculator on your desk. It looks like an 11c? I use a 12c for real estate appraisal everyday. Gotta love reverse polish notation.

Sorta. Chem E converted to procurement. (speaking of which, say more about that car you have for sale...)

Its a 12C. Relearning it.

My progression was 35 - 45 - 67 - 41C - 41CV - 11C, now, 12C + 35C
Meanwhile, proficiency has plunged.

You guys make fun of Porsche for using plywood to cover the CE board, but can you think of any other non-conductive material besides wood that would work as well, last as long and be as affordable?

Sure, 3 letters. MDF. Also lots vinyl plastics which if made in bulk would be less expensive

Yeah, but regular wood has more personality.

I wonder if I made some fancy hardwood CE paneling for the 928, would you guys buy it?

no, got very busy , sorry man! its plywood, mines a 3 piece unit for 80' u can make your own if u can build a speaker box....the small board is your bottom,a much bigger top and a small side piece that has a snap on it, to connect to your rocker panel,to hide the elect. devices, dont have pics yet, though they do have the bolts to connect to the floor boards but its only two...the relay/fuse panel sits in the floor with two plastic "fingers" at the bottom that slide into two holes...top bolts go into top slots of panel, dont tighten too hard! loose fit,but firm.

Hi !

Could someone post pics of both parts of this wood cover please ?

I don't have it and I'll need to make one.

If possible, with some measurements. (thick, length, width)

Thank you very much !
