Richard Hammond crushes a 928

There's an ad for the new Richard Hammond show in this episode -- a little ways in -- and the last shot shows him running over a defenseless first gen 928.

:-(

Some people in the media must have it in for the 928, but most people in the media are "air heads" anyway!

I can't abide that hammond-the Keith Partridge wannabe.
Check out his-pookoo shells around his neck on the next show.

I noticed his reticence of the 928 on one of the t.gear shows.

Little ****e falling into a dream job.

I want to see a Corvette ZR1 in this cars place. Ugly, heavy, plastic, gas guzzling piece of s**t. I hate Corvettes.

Well said! I had a Vett (67 Stingray) and it was unique at the time, now every time I turn the corner I see another Vett. One looks like they couldn't figure out how to design the rear and just sliced off the back end and stuck some tail lights in it. Ugly!

Well, the earlier ones were radical at the time, now there are so many they are very common. They had poor weight distribution, marginal handling and no comparison to a 928. I guess the new C6 Vett is fast and handles well. I just have no interest in them today and glad I have my 928S. If I had the $$ I would have a F430 Ferrari.

My neighbor has one, in red, I can hear him coming down the street all the time! Only in summer however as they are not good in snow. It really looks wild.

Is the one he crushed the same one he (or one of them) drove in a top gear episode...seems like it kept overheating or something...

Might be another Ep - but wasn't that one white and end up getting parted out for cash and that's how Clarkson won the race? They ended up using the engine as a coffee table, and the seats as arm chairs? Might be a very early episode.

He was in America, I doubt they'd fly a $500 928 over just to crush it. It actually held up rather well, considering. They ran over a mustang and another muscle car that ended up completely flat. They said they got all 3 cars from a local junk yard.

Many times they cheat, cutting critical bracing inside before the crush. Early on people used to sneak in cars that were reinforced, so most of the people running this kind of show make sure the cars crush easily.

Even at it's lightest ,it's a 54 ton tank.. I don't think they would have to cheat
