Ughh! California Smog on the S Day

It's that dreaded day every two years here in Tree Hugger California. Took a video of my S during it's 15 and 25 mph rolling tests.

Passed with flying (sort of) colors. A little close call on the HC.

I haven't touched a thing since I did the Intake refresh and passed two years ago. I just drive it everyday, and what a pleasure that is.

Glad we have no need to do this in Michigan! Why they even retracted the MC helmet law here!

It's not just helmets, it's economics. Many bikers would not ride in Michigan, taking vacations and trips here. Two adjacent states do not have helmet laws.

I don't like helmet laws, but not wearing a helmet should be considered the same as signing an organ donor card.

^^^ true. A head is a wonderful thing to keep intact. Breaks easily and difficult to repair. Riding 300+ miles per week, I wear a helmet. But would like to have the option for local runs to market.

It all gets back to the %#@*@ INSURANCE COMPANIES and their bribes to Congress with all kinds of seat belt, car seat laws and more crap to come. How about getting the incompetent, reckless, drivers off the street first.

Even "problem" drivers can still get their act together enough to pass a test, then text about it on the way home and take you out. Best to assume they are all nuts and drive a tank.

Here in FL you aren't required to wear a MC helmet while on a bike but you are required to wear a seat belt while in a car surrounded by safety devices and a cage of steel. It makes zero sense to me.

Its easier to require seat belts than teach people physics.

This "text messaging" while driving really bothers me. There have been some really fatal accidents here because of it. I think the cell providers should shut off texting on any phone in motion. It is technically possible.

How would you differentiate between people riding the bus and those driving? Or how about your son/daughter texting while you drive them to school?

Big brother is always watching so if there is a round looking device in front of the person, then suspend texting till the round thing is no longer there.
