Those look like Mexican plates from the state of Sonora on this car, so perhaps there was an error in the selection of currency. $10,000 pesos sounds about right.

Lots of misguided ingenuity on this car.

I think 928s around the world just dropped a little bit in value. All it needs is an air brushed mural of the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

Be sure to check out his youtube videos, but do it on an empty stomach.

I wonder if it actually runs with that what looks like a Holley carb on it. Another butcher job on a 928!

The nice thing about it is the rear wheel wells have already been cut so you can put even bigger tires on if you want.

That kind of fun would even be blasphemy to a Ford Pinto. On the other hand it is his car and he can butcher it any way he likes.....just good luck getting that $10K + whatever the reserve is over that.

Mexican Plates. Run Fast. Although, he put mega work into polishing up all that Aluminum. I do remember seeing that Car in a Video somewhere. I was really surprised at how he made it run with a Carb on there.

I think this is the same one, except it may be pre-polish

It's the "Post 2012 Apocalypse Edition" Porsche 928 - what a massive moronic idiot.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

The carb mounted on top of the plenum would probably give better fuel distribution than a lot of home made carby inlet manifolds.

I dont see why you people are hating on it. Its a fairly nice car, its kind of unique because it has a carb instead of fuel injection. I plan to do this to my 82 engine, as the guy i bought it from sold all of the fuel injection parts, ect. Explain to me, How does having fun with your car and making it unique make you a moronic idiot? I would like to know. Its better that this was done to it, than be parted out and scrapped like a lot of nice cars are.

The car is located in arizona. Those could be arizona plates.

Though I dislike some of the aesthetics of whats been done here , I don't know that I'd classify this guy as an idiot what he's done here is bypass all the computers and electrical components which were probably causing whatever his problem was to begin with, and since the carb squirt is being fed to the plenum the gas is still being direct fed to each of the separate combustion chambers so really what he's done is create a kind of carb injection system that isn't controlled by a computer or anything electrical. I applaud the guys resourcefulness, it not only kept his car out of the boneyard it seemed to me it ran pretty freakin good , as a matter of fact, I dare say this car will be on the road long after a lot of others have been cast aside. C'mon lets face it this guy will never have to deal with the injectors or fuel delivery system ever again, and in the third video you can clearly see that there's no AFM present either so that PITA is gone so he's cut a lot of upkeep/aggravation out on the car. Actually in light of the lack of an AFM/MAF he probably could've rigged that carb in the place of the stock airbox and ran it through the throttle housing and NOT had to cut the hood ! Cars are meant to be driven and it just seems to me that the primary issue everybody has here is the way the car looks and I actually didn't think it looked too bad in the first video which I assume was the final state of the car since there was no box on the hood in the last 2 videos if I'm wrong about that, sorry, the ad was gone from ebay so I didn't get to see anything but Dano's videos, but all that aside, if the chrome polished version was what he ended with what difference does that make? Appearance is the easiest thing to change and let me tell you the right set of fender flares (properly molded) , a more streamlined box on the hood or none at all (which I believe would be possible) and drop the suspension back down a little and shoot a real pretty coat of paint and THAT car could be straight sexy! I don't hear anybody crying foul when somebody puts , say, a twin screw super charger on their car and how is that realistically any different ? Also lets not overlook the possibility that this guy may not have had a choice here if it was carb it up or walk, I know I'd choose the carb, After all neccesity has always been the mother of invention and no woman anywhere, EVER looked over and said " Wow I wanna sleep with that pedestrian!"

I think this is awesome. His next project should be to make a disk to drum brake conversion and maybe a three speed column shifted manual transmission. That would be sweeeet!!!

I'd pm the guy through YouTube some time ago, and metr0p0lis has it exactly right. The owner tried in vain to get the CIS system going, stated he had no resources to speak of as far as CIS experts in Mexico or CIS info in Spanish. Imagine trying to fix a K-Jet car without so much as a clue on how the fuel injection system works.

As evident by most Craig List ads for OB's, most people call it quits right about then. I think it became a "what have I got to lose" situation for the guy.

Good for him. He retrofitted a carb and now he's off enjoying his car.

Bad for him: Until he fixes the CIS, he's married to this car for life and he'll be fodder for our comments.
