Tried to fix a/c created another problem

I have a vacuum problem with my air cond controls. I took out all the controls on the center consolee to get to the vacuum lines. I found the loose line and put it back. I then put back all the other controls and when I started the car the instrument gauges stopped working. Well sort of!!!!. The "information" button is illuminated and when I push it the tachometer works but reads over 2K at idle. When I pull the hand brake the tach dies and the information light comes back on. The oil gauge sometimes works. Is it safe to assume I loosened a ground wire when I dove into the console or did I blow a fuse somewhere.

Also the flashing emergency light on the instrument panel stays on. I hope I made this clear enough.

Any ideas???? Thanks

Sounds like a ground issue or two plugs got swapped in your reassembly.

Did you remove the pod?

Thanks for the response.

Dean, since you mentioned it I did venture over to the pod because the high pressure washer button was broken. I had to remove some items, such as the lower pod trim. When I looked at the electrical connection it only had one wire going to it. Like a dummy, I pulled on another wire of the same size thinking it should be connected to the other side of the button. I might have pulled something loose over there or does the button only have one wire to it? I am very bad at electrical diognostics. Thanks.

Good news. I spent well into the dark last night looking for the problem. Well, I decided to check the fuses. I found a blown 5 amp fuse that is in slot 10. Lesson learned. Look at the fuses first.

Thanks for your input.
