How to remove electrical seats and rear bumper cover?

I just noticed that I have a electrical problem in my salvaged 928 S. I wish to remove my electrical seats since they are going to be fitted in another car but these seats has to be pulled back so I can reach the screws attaching the seats...

But since it seems that I have some kind of electrical problem in the car I cannot pull them back by just pressing the button.

So my question is, is there a manual way of pulling them back?

I also need to remove the rear bumper cover, do you need any special tool to do so?

Look under the seat, there should be a lever that you can operate to move the seat manually.
Not sure about rear cover, I'm sure someone will respond.

I know on the S4 seats that I got, there is no lever. There is a way to use a hex head, but haven't got that to work on mine either. I actually had to MacGyver mine 1 side at a time to get mine to move forward. My switches are bad so this is my problem. I would see if your getting power to your seats first, there should be a plug under your seat, check it with a test light or voltmeter. If no power, check your fuse, I am not which exact one it is but there is a chart somewhere.

if you are talking about stuck seats on the 928 S ( the original seats ) look under the seat and you will see a round metal rod ( on left or right, depends on seat) - this is the manual release - move it to left and right while sitting in the seat. and slide yourself forward .

If you have the owners manual I believe it give the intructions to manually move the seat. If I recall correctly the procedure goes something like this:
Either remove the front plastic cover or if there is a small plug in the cover remove it.
the electric motor in the middle (there will be three) is the motor that controls fore-aft movement.
this motor will have and extended armature that will accept a hex key.
place the hex key in the motor shaft and manually rotate the shaft to move the seat for or aft (I don't know which direction is which).
this will probably be slow going as I thing the electric motor is geared but it should be able to get you there.

No special tools necessary for rear bumper cover removal.

My Driver Seat Front Pan Bolts Backed Out

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! I had to sit in the vehicle like you said to get the manual release to work. Leverage and weight was required.

Reason I am down there? Well......my 2 front seat pan bolts backed themselves out over time. One went and the other one finally backed out also. Found the bolts in the track and barely removed one with a magnet. Other one; no way until the seat is out.

100 degree + heat and a tooth ache but I went for it.

Found 92.8 cents in the rails and stuck in the up and down gear, no wonder it wasn't working. found golf tees, cig butts but no condoms or little packets of powder thank God.

Those rear allen head bolts are really hard to get out. Im sure will be harder to get back in tomorrow.

I see the driver side is collapsing from mucho gas pedal romping.

To the OP: no special tool is required to remove the rear bumper cover although an 8mm socket and lots of patience help.

I have a 1/4" drive extension that is 14" long ( Sears for $10.00 ) I use to remove the rear cover. On the driver side you may need to remove the antenna to get access to the nuts. On the passenger side...it is really tight to get around the gas tank neck but keep at it. I use a swivel head with the 14" extension on that side. 3/8" drive is too big to get in there. The tail tight housing is attached to the bumper cover in a way that requires you to remove the cover and housing attached to one another...so don't waste you time trying to get those out first. When the cover is loose you will need to reach in and pull the tail light plugs off or disconnect the harness and push that through the fender holes. The tag light wires need to be disconnected as well. The bumperetts will need to come off before hand as well as the tag bracket.

Thread is 2.5 years old. OP probably figured it out I hope. Found this thread searching for help on my seat issue. Just finished - YAHOO!!!!!!!!!

Lessons learned is if seat is stuck in down position it is very hard to remove rear bolts.

Much easier to install after removing coins stuck in gears. Rear bolts are very accessible once the seat is able to raise all the way up. Removal was a royal pain.

Nice having 3 way seat for first time in my stewardship of this 928. Thanks Pelican.
