Satin Black Hood Paint

I see a lot of new or newer Porsche; Cayman, Boxster and Carrera models with this treatment. They are not aftermarket lightweight hoods, just factory hoods painted to look lightweight from what i can tell. See these cars at the local Porsche dealership.
I think it looks very sporting.
If i were to do this i'd remove the metal Porsche emblem.

Hood Emblem is held by two 8 or 10mm nuts. The gasket is a bear to get around the edges if you buy a new one. I just flipped mine over and used the back of the gasket.

I've yet to see that look on any nice car, especially a Porsche. Dealers are doing this?

I've seen it on cars like beat to hell Civics and Camaros...I always assume it's some kid or hilljack that racked up the front end, put a junk yard hood on it and hit it with black primer.

I know what you saying 19psi, lately every time i am up at the dealership i see 1 or 2 new Porsches with this.
Turns out it is satin black wrap, Older air cooled Carreras that have lightweight hoods fit to them started this look on Porsches.
My '86 Carrera hood (trunk lid) feels like an anvil w/o the hood struts, people with older 911s know this.
