stereo mod
saw this pic when skimming through forums, how tough to make this work? I wanted a new stereo, posted about it a while ago. I like the idea of having a touch screen , with nav, but i think the ones that flip out are tacky, this looks OEM to me.

Ty, lots of people have done it... I myself will be doing it as well. I have a new Pyle double din-nav stereo, and a couple year old Pioneer double din -nav stereo. I got an extra center console to play with and try to modify....it will be a little while before I can get around to it, but it's happening. I plan on removing my clock and hazard button, cut out the little mounting panel, then drop the climate control and warning light down, then should have enough room for he head unit, similar to the pic.
Search on Rennlist, there is a guy selling a frame piece that will make it really easy.

That's exactly what I was going to do Tony. Did you have to extend any cables/wire/harness for the AC controls?

Unrelated, but I noticed the switches for windows, etc. Pretty cool.
Where are these from, does anybody know? |

Those switches look pretty bad to me...
Check out the switch panel by Paul Champagne (the leather guy...) Alan

If you don't need the NAv, I put in a JVC single DIN with touch screen and no modifications needed. Look up my older posts on here if interested. I can tell you what really made a BIG difference is the in spare tire sub woofer. It made a tremendous sound improvement and total cost with amp was under $100. Also no modifications!!!!!
