Porsche Crest Porsche 928 Form & Function / Modification

Thought we may want to discuss any ideas related to Exterior and Interior Design Modifications here.
Keeping the 'Tinkering' thread about daily maintenance.
Doesn't have to be a finished mod, an idea is fine. Tony had discussed deleting his sunroof mechanism in the GTS,
I woke up visualizing the Zagato 'Double Bubble' roof designs and thought that could be cool if done right on a 928.
Hope Tony77 drops in a few pics of his Minerva Blue GTS to start it off.
The interior of his GTS is also updated very nice. Pete R, please some pics of your red 928!!

Relocated the HVAC control and deleted the rear air & rear air controls to allow a double din, ipod ready head unit. Dedicated (skinned) amps to power the sub and focal 3 way seperates up front. Modded the center vents to allow flow from 2 to 4 sections to where you desire. Also glued in some foam in between the top, middle and bottom of the vent hole as not to allow seapage and enhance the A/C flow. Modern VW lighting througout interior along with soft white LED's. Rear seat delete and cabinet built to house 10" sub box and 2 storage units. Center armrest was raised 1.5" and wrapped in lazered pascha along with side armrest, auto shift handle, and cargo cover. Wife made a nice leather bound map book. Rebuilt door panels and recarpeted in charcoal gray to tie into the pascha theme. Sunroofless headliner wrapped in leather, and aluminum stop & go pedals added, and don't forget the cupholder ! Swapped in some comfy 997 sport seats for added headroom and good looks. I'm sure there are things that I missed on the interior that might be found here:
Form & Function. Interior mods 94 928 GTS - Rennlist Discussion Forums The first few pages are pretty comical. Enjoy. T

Wow. Can we see the exterior and areas where you deleted stuff, wheels etc.

Pete R has Ruf wheels i think on his 928, hope he post some pics.

I really like my 951 (944T) phonedials on mine will post some pics.

Thanks Tony, your GTS looks incredible. Many may not know you repainting recently in classic Minerva Blue, like BlueMaxx. Be nice to see some pics of Bluemaxx too as a comparison.

Great work Tony, I hope more post stuff they have done.

Deleted items on the exterior: sunroof, side rub strips, side marker lights, door locks, rear bumperettes, front headlight squirters, GTS rear bumper replaced with S4 rbc. Swapped in IIRC a pre 84 rear hatch glass to rid the car of that big 3rd brake light and replaced with a small LED strip frenched into the rear headliner. More here:

Jerry Feather makes them, he posts here from time to time too. Also does a heavy cowl cover and some other parts.

I know this will never happen but I'd like to see someone develop a flip-up front end for the 928, like the Jaguar E-type or (dare I say) the C4 Corvette; this would make working on the engine so much simpler.

Agreed! A tilt-nose would be AWESOME on a 928!

Carl 928motorsports made one, not sure if it worked out or not.
