Lettering on rear bumper? Original from the factory?

Is the "Porsche" and "928S" lettering with decals original from the factory for a 1985 928S rear bumper or was it added on by the dealer o by a previous owner?

If you look, the lettering is recessed into the bumper, not just stuck on the surface.

you can still buy the PORSCHE letters,
make sure you get the right year,
as they changed in 87 ,
you can also get the letters in different colors,
also note the 928S placement its centered on the early cars
the S4 has the number script offset to the right

Recessed letters are factory, the stick on I don't think came from the factory, but its a Porsche part as well as aftermarket sources (I think).

the recessed letters are stick on vinyl from the factory,
though some could have come through without the vinyl letters applied

Thanks. Ive had the rear bumper resprayed and it looks pretty good without the lettering, that's why I wondered which version was factory original

I'm thinking the 81 I bought off lease in 86 had no stick on letters and I bought a set.

Lots of things were done both by dealers and first owners, so I'm not sure.

Most of the original cars that I've seen had the decals. Many resprayed cars don't because they are an added cost and not too many people know where to get them. I have read (on here) that option could be deleted, but I think the cars look better and more original with the vinyl stickers. The black or blue cars had light grey Porsche stickers and the lighter white, red, etc cars had dark grey stickers.
