Low (or even no) maintenence needed.

I was reading last night and I came across this obtuse line in the EZF/LH service test plan for my "S", and it made me giggle: "Modern engines requiring more from ignition systems and the objective of low (or even no) maintenance have led to the application of electronic ignition systems in standard production some time ago." Ok. If true, then I probably wouldn't be falling asleep in old service manuals at night.

The issue was EPA requiring a 50k mile warranty on emissions systems. Motivated some improvements and generally the emission system is fine on a 928 for more than twice that, just not 3 or 4 times that.
