Parts Car -

On occasion, I'll check over the local Craigslist ads and a couple of the sports car salvage sites for parts cars that may be available. A few weeks ago a freezing blast of sleet blew across the pan handle and northern half of Texas that almost added Miss Purdy to the parts bin. I was traveling along with the flow of traffic only to find myself trying to dodge a car that had cut across the path of another driver and was now skidding down the middle of two lanes. All anyone could do was hope for the best - Speed, Wide Tires and Black Ice can be the kiss of death to an older 928.

All I could think of was a photo I had seen on a wrecked exotic car site that had a 928 after it had slid into a bridge pillar. Man lets drive careful out there in the new year.

Wow...that does not look good. I fear someone left this world behind the wheel of that S4.

Sad.

Exactly what happened to a customer of mine, heavy and cold rain on Hwy 75 a couple weeks back. Hydroplaned and bounced each end of the car off the cement along the road. Total loss. The only good news is it is now living in different cars keeping them on the road. Actually installed the trans in my car yesterday.

We are a worried lot about our cars. One of the things I tell new owners is that owning a 928 is good for exercise, you will never park near a store entrance again, only out in the boonies away from any other car.

Yep,
And when you return to your lonely car there will be someone parked in the spot next to it!
