928 Main Beam goes out when Pod fully up
Hello to all!
This is my first post on this site - I am hoping that I may be able to get some advice from fellow 928 enthusiasts. I have a RHD 1985 928, which I unfortunately broke the glass lens. Through a colleague, I obtained the correct (and in amazingly good condition) replacement headlamp On putting the replacement headlamp in - a remarkably easy job - I encountered these strange scenarios: 1) main beam would work on both light when using the stalk to flash ( so bulbs ok) 2) when turning on the leadlamps, the pods would come up and lights come on - however when using the stalk to put the main bean on only the passenger side ( not the side I changed the headlamp) comes on 3) when putting the stalk in main beam position and then turning the headlamps on - BOTH main beams would work until the pod on the side that I replaced got fully into position - then the main beam on the replacement side goes out. Any help / hints much appreciated! |

I would check for a broken wire at the metal clamp on harness directly under the headlamp,
this is a common failure , the wire inside the sheathing shears from the harness being too tight when the lamp is in the up position, fix the wire then make sure the harness has enough extra flex
