Cool 70's 5 speed with Pasha
I met a fellow who has a few cars for sale, while speaking with him on a 911 he tells me about a 70's 928. I'm not sure if it's a 77 or 78 or?
It's medium blue like a Venetian blue maybe a little darker, needs paint more due to fading, no visible rust. It is a Euro model with the adjustable headlight and has the very cool Pasha interior, oh ya and it's a 5 speed. The car has been sitting outside. This car can be reconditioned or used as a parts car, from what he tells me it needs a power steering pump, also a good cleaning. Sorry I didn't take photos but may be able to get some. Probably could be purchased for $1,000 maybe $1,200 CDN. If you have any interest please PM or contact me directly at: mike at autosportcanada dot com Mike |

Thanks for the response BoiseShark, I will try and get back there and take photos. Is there anything specific I should look for and what is the car worth, it has 114,000 kms or approximately 65,000 miles?

Brock,
Value for car as described is probably fairly low. Pics would help. Get a snapshot of the VIN plate near the hood latch if possible. Yes, the official MY designations started as 1978. But the production began with a set of production prototypes in very early 1977, several of which have been found in general circulation recently, so there are a few very early cars out there, waiting to be rediscovered. The story gets painted pretty well within these threads and varous sublinks. Early Porsche 928 restoration - "Number One", Preproduction Press Car (#1RC) - Rennlist Discussion Forums '77 ('78) Porsche 928, "Number Six", Preproduction Press Car (Updated 3-18-13) - Rennlist Discussion Forums

Landseer, thanks for the information and to the others who have provided input. I have not yet had the opportunity to make the one hour drive back to get photos but I plan on it.
From the VIN it appears to be a fairly early 78 build, not sure yet what the production numbers were for 78 but this shouldn't be too difficult to determine. The interior is black but the Pasha seats appeared (from memory) to be dark blue or black with the white. Very cool car, very cool cars these 928's Stay tuned, thanks again Mike |
