79 wobble felt through clutch pedal

Just started to happen a few weeks ago. Came out of work one day and the clutch had a good wobble to it.

When I push in the clutch, I can feel a pretty good wobble. Like an out of balance situation. It is worse when it is 1/4 to half way down and seems to go away if I push completely down to the floor. The kicker is that it comes and goes. Sometimes after driving at highway speeds, it goes away. Almost like something realigns itself. If the condition is without wobble and I hammer down up to 5-6k rpm, it comes back again. Sometimes it worse than other times. These are just generalizations though.

I can feel it best by just barely depressing (resting my foot) on the clutch pedal.

I pulled the clutch and inspected everything (pilot bearing is new and still OK) and didn't really see anything abnormal or broken, but maybe I overlooked something. The throw out bearing appeared to be OK. Will be pulling it again soon.

Any ideas?

Perhaps the Motor Mounts . When Clutch is depressed it puts pressure on the whole motor from the pressure Plate and can move the motor around however with a " hydraulic " operated Clutch this does not make much sense humm
Here is a post that addresses the same sort of issues

Flywheel usually. Causes slight pulsing in the pedal.

on the 928 the clutch pedal being pushed down will be pulling the crankshaft to the rear of the car.
This will have no effect on the motor mounts.

The throwout bearing spins all of the time that the engine is turning .

This could have an effect on the pressure plate fingers as it could act as a sawing motion if the bearing is seizing

from your description the fingers on the PP may have had a few break off,
also check the guide tube for loose bolts,
and the release arm bushing it may be crumbling.
