1980 oxygen sensor wireing hook up

Hello 928'ers 1980 Porsche 928 us model
Can anyone tell me about the wiring hook up at the " oxygen sensor "
Mine I was unable to unhook . It looked like the wire was crimped on and as such I had to cut it in 2 about 2 inches up from the oxygen sensor .
Is that a single wire ? or a wire inside a Grounding type shield on the outside of the
oxygen sensor wiring ???
I looked at the wire but it looks like a single wire but I may be mistaken .
Can I just make a new connection to this wire
Or is is a wire " inside " of a Grounding outer shield wire .

Thanks if anyone Knows

Don't you have a plug connector inside the car at the CE panel?

Many use a universal replacement that you splice/crimp onto the old connector. The actual connector is near the CE panel and looks a bit like a radio antenna connection. Sensor itself is the same afaik.

I did not trace it down but i believe that's correct
I am simply trying to find if It's only 1 wire or rather a wire inside a Ground Shield .
Thanks for reply

Unplug the connector inside the car and see if it has two terminals. I'm guessing your '80 won't have the heating element version which requires additional wiring.
