Replacement rear bumper cover lettering

Greetings all,
Rear bumper cover recessed lettering less than appealing? I am excited to announce a new product that I am offering out to the 928 community for the first time: 3M company peel-and-stick black reflective lettering for your rear bumper. These letters, cut from original stock PORSCHE font, are black in daylight and actually reflect white at night with directed light. (See the attached photos but please disregard the slight but embarrassing depressed bumper cover from a minor rear-ending.) So far, I only have lettering for model years 1978-1986 but as demand increases, I will have other styles (and daylight colors as well).
$45.00 gets you a set within the U.S. For orders sent abroad, you'll pay the $45.00 and my actual shipping charges.

That's an interesting product. I never heard of a decal that will change color with light. You should show photos of it in the daytime, then show the reflected one.

How long has this type of decal material been tested on the road since it will take direct heat, snow, rain, etc.

I have had this on my car through two full Pennsylvania summers (temps above 90F), through many many washings, one full winter (2008-2009) and so far through this 2009/2010 winter with temps in the single digits on occasion. They still look new.

I will post a pic of the rear in daylight soon but the pic of the lettering not yet applied is a perfect example of what they look like. I would prefer a pic of a set on a different car than mine as my letters are the original, hand cut prototype letters that aren't as crisp and neat as the machine cut lettering from the shop.

Do you have any other concerns?

No other concerns. Thanks for the informative reply. I may look you up when I get my car painted, but I was kinda looking at a Dark Grey or Grey for my lettering. Will you be offering up a choice in more Colors in the future?

Yes, Sir. I do have access to other colors including grey and will offer them out soon. Most will want black and I will focus on black for several weeks at least.
The other colors also reflect white in color.

Is the lettering different on a 87 an up? Mines just all blue from a repaint but I wouldnt mind black

87 up is a different size of letter,
3M makes some of the best products so I wouldnt worry about the material not lasting.
But more the cleaning process of the rear bumper to remove all the wax in the letter cutouts

Yes, lettering is still available.
Have had my 928 in a storage garage for most of the winter so the 'out of sight- out of mind' syndrome set in and I haven't checked in to web forums in quite awhile.
Spring is here now and am just starting to think of warm weather fun and driving the 928 again.

Allen's lettering is top notch, beautiful 3M product.
I have the reflective version, black by day, bright reflective white when light hits it at night, very cool. Holds up great, made it through many washings, and a brutal winter, looks great!!! Will be around for a long time, that is evident...
