engine timing not advancing
Hi guys
So my car doesn't rev more than 3000 rpm. And when I drive down the road it doesn't accelerate like it should. It feels like the engine timing is stuck and won't advance. Might be something to do with the distributor, but I was wondering if it could be something else. I would rather check other things before I buy parts I don't need. Any ideas of what else it might be would be helpful. |

Tony, put your MY in your post.
A non-engine related fix, if it not engine or electronics, check to see if your pedal linkage under the POD has slipped...the linkage (end) ball which fits into the backside of the pedal may have miss-located. This happened to me just by slipping of the brake while lifting up right foot which knocked into the pedal very briefly slipping the linkage ball out of place...hopefully that is all it is.

82 I think used vacuum lines to a diaphragm on the distributor, check for leaks and incorrect routing.
