2-Stage Short Shift Kit - Used One?

I have seen several video's about short shift kits for the 928, which eliminates the forward ball cup bushing and is supposed to give a more gated shift pattern. Has anyone here installed one of these units? Does anyone carry this item or have they just evaporated? Would love to hear some feedback on this item, as you just never know when that ball cup is suddenly gone south. Thanks, milspam

You might find one where somebody buys the kit, then sells the car before installing, but my advice would be to read all the short shift threads here and on Rennlist and go with the best one. Which that might be I am not sure, but nothing is worse than factory afaik.

I installed the "Lizard" short shifter a few years ago when the front ball cup popped out. I used it with the original shift knob and was never quite happy with it. I recently installed a Momo-style shift knob and it transformed the feel. The stock shift knob was too squishy, the new one gives a firm, direct feel.

I have one on my 78, made by Ed at Perfex engineering, I think it is. I am quite happy with it. This style, and I believe the one Carl sells (I think pelican has one too?) do not eliminate the front ball cup. For that you will need the lizard shifter, which is sold through Roger....unless something has changed.

Unfortunately, something has changed, airtekHVAC, Roger has sold out of the Lizard shifters. I asked him last month, and he wasn't sure if he would be getting another run of them made. I then emailed Colin about getting one, but he didn't reply.

Maybe if several of us got together for a group order they would be convinced to get more made?
