Injector question 2 different styles in car

I pulled my injector rails and found two different style injectors. They both look like they will work just wondering if they make two styles. I have only seen the black tip ones on all my cars.
Any info on the other style injectors the black tip ones were on one side and the others were on the other rail. Will these work or will I have issues.
The nozzle on the ones without the black tip are larger.
Thanks
I enclosed some pics
Ps I got the car running on dumping fuel in the throttle chamber after cleaning up my wiring nightmare so Im attacking the fuel system now

What are the bosch part numbers on the injectors?

The injectors with the black ends ( the longer ones) look to be correct and should be 280 150 154 - in 30+ years i have never seen the shorter ones.

I have never seen them either. They have the original seal without the clamp which made me think for a minute that they might be original but they have different size hole for the fuel. I'm going to clean them up and run fuel thru them with my home made injector tester that I made from a brake bleeder pump to see how it sprays

Are the shorter ones actually cold start injectors?

john 928 08-10-2016 12:53 PM

No , they have the the same body as a injector with the bolt down clamp just like the others except for it doesn't have the black tip. The oring grommet is alittle different. But I ordered a new set of grommets locally and what they gave me were the grommets that looked like the ones for the injectors that didn't belong on the car.
Kind of weird , I'm thinking these injectors are for a later model 928

Look at the side of the injector, there will be a part number on it. Post it and we can tell you exactly what it is.

So, what did you determine? Where did the injectors come from?

john 928 09-07-2016 09:44 AM

Sorry to get back so late but I'm being told the ones without the black caps over the nozzles are later style injectors 89 and up
But cannot confirm or deny without pulling some off a 89 and up car

Mrmerlin 09-07-2016 02:06 PM

thats not correct the 89 injectors have O rings at each end inlet/outlet

Danglerb 09-11-2016 08:54 PM

The Bosch part number will be real helpful in sorting this out.

Injector follow up

Ok guys I did some research and according to any Bosch listing from a parts supply warehouse these injectors are made by company Lucas and are suppose to be replacements for the oe injectors. I really could not see any markings on the injectors. :(

Damn!! English Lucas electrical parts (notoriously problematic) in a notoriously complicated German electrical system also prone to issues: What could possibly go wrong?? :)

Kind of like practicing to bleed.
