I need some serious help! Please, dear god, someone help out.....

OK.....finally got my 928 back from the body shop. I have no instrument lights.....so I check the fuses. All ok, but still no lights. I turn the key on and my turn signal relay is making a loud buzzing noise that wont stop unless I turn a turn signal on. When I do turn a turn signal on, my guage needles pulse with the clicking of the turn signal. When I wiggle fuse #12, the buzzing stops, and everything goes back to normal. What in the world is causing this??? Please help.....I'm so depressed about it.

What year? Sounds like they could have got the plugs on the back of the pod crossed over. Easy to do on a pre 87.

Sorry I disappeared for a few days. Well, based on what John said.....my battery is very weak and sometimes I have to jump start the car. Maybe a fresh battery will make the car behave a little better. Thanks, John! It was acting up after I was working on it with the doors open and the headlights on. (I was cleaning the headlight covers) My battery was very low and when I was done, I had to jump start it. Hopefully, a fresh battery will solve the problem. Now, I just need to figure out why my instrument lights don't work. Thanks to all of you!!!

There's a thumb wheel under the dash that adjusts the display light level. It gets dirty sometimes and needs removal and cleaning. Or just check that they didn't fiddle it to "off" trying to figure out what it was.

When I first purchased my 1981, the instrument panel lighting was out. Turned out to be that one of the wires to the lighting adjustment wheel (mentioned above) was disconnected.

Even connected (& cleaned) my lighting adjustment is still quite fiddly and has several dead spots. Move it back & forth to see if the lights come on or flicker.

Finally, there is a ground point (in the 81) on the steering column. Clean these wires and the connection point - your dash display (& all of your warning lights) is likely to get a LOT brighter after that.

Good luck!

So, I slowly rolled the dimmer switch back and forth and sure enough, I found a sweet spot and my dash lights work now!!!! YAY!! I will try to clean the switch so it works better, but it's not an expensive part to replace if I have to. Thanks again for the help!
