944 turbo wont restart once hot.

I 944 run and starts fine when it is cold. Once running for 10 minutes or so if I turned it off it will not start. It will turnover. Any Ideas?

Check your fuel pressure. There is a spec for residual pressure (to keep the fuel from vaporizing, causing vapor lock.) After 20 minutes, the residual pressure should be 1.8 to 2.2 bar.

Two other ideas/easy things to check... (But I agree it could be a fuel issue as 944 Ecology said)

-- If a no start check the the DME relay. Sometimes they go bad when they heat up/heat soak but then are fine when the engine compartment cools down. https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Porsche_944_Turbo/24-ELEC-DME_Relay_Troubleshooting/24-ELEC-DME_Relay_Troubleshooting.htm

-- If a hard start ie ... it eventually starts and stumbles if you crank it long enough? Check the TPS (throttle sensor), it may have failed electrically. This happened on mine (a low miles car but still 36 years old) -- the car was literally impossible to start when the engine was hot. Once it cooled down, started right up. PS - I was also getting an intermittent high idle after the car warmed up. Once I replaced the TPS, all worked fine.

Turbo? It might be the alternator. Mine is giving me fits. I just bet that yours is on its way out. Its an electrical issue for sure...
