Yes it can be done. You pretty much need everything in the 951s engine bay, 951 exhaust, 951 halfshafts, 951 ECU, 951 wiring harness, 951 instrument cluster and probably a lot of other things.

By the time you add all this up plus your 944na plus labor you have exceeded the cost of a 951, and you still have the same suspension and brakes.

Oh dear lord,

For the love of all that is good, and for the sake of sanity please listen carefully.

Yes, it can be done. I can send you a detailed parts list with all of the components you will need.

This procedure WILL cost you a few thousand dollars - it is NOT as simple as dropping a complete 951 engine in a 944.

For the money you will have spent, plus the cost of the 944 you already have, you could have BOUGHT a 951 and been done with it.

turbocharging the 944 NA engine WILL cause premature wear, eventually DESTROYING the engine

AFJuvat. Please just post the list of everything a person would need. Maybe with price each item would cost. Then, everytime this came up we could just send them to this post. I know many of us who have NA's secreatly dream of putting 951 motor, transmission, brakes, and suspension into our cars. However, most of us already know "its cheaper to just by a 951". I dream of owning a Turbo for each day of the week...

Here's a picture of all the parts you'll need (from my RacerX website):

Here's a parts list and approximate used-parts pricing:

$150.00 - 951 forged pistons
$250.00 - 951 forged con-rods
$100.00 - widefire headgasket and top-end seal kit
$175.00 - 951 intake manifold and throttle-body
$550 - intake, airbox, filter and AFM
$250 - K26/6 turbocharger
$200 - turbocharger water-pump, hoses and temp-sensor
$100 - turbo oil-feed line and machining upper balance-shaft cover
$350 - 951 oil-pan and turbo oil-return
$100 - 951 turbo/engine-mount
$100 - 951 coolant expanson tank
$350 - 951 radiator
$900 - headers, crossover pipe, downpipe, exhaust
$150 - wastegate
$200 - head with ceramic-lined exhaust ports
$500 - 951 DME & KLR computers
$100 - Cycling Valve (boost-controller solenoid)
$100 - 951 engine harness
$100 - 951 injectors
$350 - intercooler & pipes
$1200 - 951 tranny

I have no idea what parts I left off, because there's probably a bunch. A lot of these are low-ball wholesale prices as well, so add 25-50% on some of them. Would take at least 100-hours to complete the job. So add in whatever mechanic's wages are around your area, or your current wages if you're doing this yourself. And in the end, you still don't have the 951's superior brakes and suspension; don't even think those NA brakes are gonna work at hauling you down from 160+mph. And don't think you can scimp on the tranny either. An NA tranny when subjected to Turbo levels of torque will end up looking like this in less than 1year:
