944 Turbo MGP

What sort of MGP are you folks getting on your Turbos?

I know the normally aspirated ones get low to high 20s but is it much worse with forced induction?

Thanks Jeff!

Sounds like there isn't any difference in MPG between a normally aspirated and a Turbo.

i get around 28mpg freeway cruising, and 17mpg when i stomp on it. i'm also running really rich.

i'm pretty sure with a variable tuning system i could easily get over 35mpg freeway.

On interstates driving less than 70 (and no exuberance), I get 31 MPG. On rural highways where there is an occasional town, speed changes, some lights, and some passing, I get in the 28's.

Around town I get about 23.

Got 27 this weekend on a trip with the girlfriend. Secondary highways at around 80 mph for most of the time and including two passes over the mountains (not big mountains, only about 3,000 feet). Mileage is definitely better now that I have the vacuum system sorted out. (Thought it was good before, but then found one missing line, fixing that found another and eventually like 25% of the lines got replaced.)

With the 21 gallon tank that's a range of over 500 miles with a decent safety margin (567 miles from full to completely empty). Not too shabby for a car that's 20 years old with an owner who likes boost a little too much.

I figure that in the flatlands and on an interstate where I've got more than just one lane to work with I'd approach 30 mpg on a long trip.

I've gotten from 27 to 38mpg on the highway, it all depends on speed. If you're cruising in the bottom end of 5th gear on flat-ish land without a lot of passing then it will do pretty well. If you're going 80-90mph then expect to see a huge decline in fuel economy.

Around town I get 12-18mpg. Used to be 10-12, but now that I changed the O2 sensor it came up a lot.

the metric numbers of alex above are close the figures claimed in the porsche marketing stuff of 86 the claimed 8of so per 100 at 90kmh and a bit over 9 per 100 for 110 kmh the boast of the time was that the 951 could match the atmo for fuel econ
