Can someone tell me what this dial bore gauge says?

I want to check thoe cylinder bores in my motor. Thus picture is of the gauges dial. From 0 to 5 there are 10 hash marks, 5 big ones and 5 small ones. The face of the gauge says 0.0005"

What does each of the 10 hash marks from 0 to 5 mean?

well the larger hash marks are 1-4 then the little ones are 1/2 like if the guage is reading the 3rd hash (or 2nd small hash) it would be reading 1.5

well it looks like it says .0005" on one side so that would make it 0 to 0.025 " scale on either side, but it says 0 - .25 on the other side... which is confusing.
what does it measure on a known scale like a caliper or feeler gauge ?

the face of the dial says .0005" to .25" which is the range of the scale.

therefore, each tick is .0005"
and the maximum value the scale can read is .25"

actually, i think the printing on the dial is incorrect. is this gauge made in china or something?

if each tick is .0005" and there are 50 ticks, the top value will be .025"
