Troubleshooting Database

Hey Everybody,

I've been working on a new database. It has many functions, I've written programming which reads my order emails and populates fields with customer information on the fly. Then it sends the new customer a html attachment which is a web form for them to fill out. When submitted this finishes populating the database fields. So all I have to do is sanity checks to make sure all the data went in and the program didn't break anything.

Now the problem, existing customers. Over 400 of you. I need you all to fill out the customer survey form to populate the database with customer and car information.

I've been feeding old transaction emails through this program, so a lot of you may have already received an email from me that looks like you just bought something, but it is for an old purchase, with the form attached, please fill it in.

Many customers have bought through other resellers, I have very limited information on these customers and their cars. Anyone who has ever purchased a product from MAXhpkit/951MAX through any retail channel may fill out the form right on the website at http://www.maxhpkit.com/survey.htm

I'm using the information from this database, and all the information I've collected over the past year troubleshooting people's cars to compile a troubleshooting database. There will be a form you go to, input your configuration (or your email address if your configuration is already on file), and your symptoms. This will return the answer to your questions and best resolution procedure I can provide. This troubleshooter will be available 24x7, and when used will take a great deal of load off of support time, for anyone that does any support on these cars. Much faster than a forum search, and derived from direct experience of other people, not opinions, scenarios, or speculation. I feel this will be a VERY useful tool. And of course it will be freely available to the general public, not just our customers.

This database will also help me refine mappings and produce better quality products for all.

I appreciate your cooperation with this, it will help a lot of people.

Regards,
Russell

Russell,
I just filled it out...do I get a free toaster? Actually you should have a blank for Turbo 'other' so we can be more specific.

There is a 'mods' section you can enter in information about the turbo, or anything else not covered in the main dropdown section.

Actually I have the least amount of info from people who purchase through other resellers. So I need everyone who has ever bought any products from me, even if they purchased it from someone else.

If you haven't changed your injector size or turbo there's no real reason for a new chip.

Russell

I just competed your survey, I bought mine through LR and I wasn't 100% sure when I bought them but I know it was sometime last year. Also, mine were burned for 55lb injectors, I'm being told now that I should run 72 pounders, can I make that adjustment through the MAFterburner software or will I need new chips?

Thanks for the info Paul. I noticed on your form you selected 'other' on engine size, what engine do you have?

A lot of people push 72-83# injectors, and more often than not it is overkill. I have cars putting down 400RWHP using 55# injectors. I know the mafterburner has settings for injector size, but have never actually seen anyone use this feature when switching injectors. Everyone I know has gotten a new chip matched to the injectors. If you do change chips for the injectors you do not have to pay the full chip price, the existing customer re-tune is only 100 bucks.

I also just wanted to say thanks to all who have filled out the survey form so far. Two days on the site and I've already had 90 people fill it out. This is very helpful, thank you all so much.

Regards,
Russell

Great, I'll get in contact with you when I end up deciding which route to go with the injectors. I meant to clarify the engine size (I think I mentioned it briefly in the "mods" section). I have a 2.7L, my Darton MID sleeves are bored out to fit my 104mm pistons.
