951 has no spark

My dad just recently rebuilt my engine on a 1986 951 and we tried to start the car and it cranked but wont start.Checked the end of the fuel rail and cranked it and it was getting fuel.We checked the coil and there is no spark. And we bypassed the dme relay and still wouldnt start. What are the different possibilities that could have gone wrong?

did you touch the dme at all? might want to also try bypassing the factory alarm. I had a similar condition the dme plug wasnt fully seated. Also the factory alarm will also give similar problems.

Bump on the reference and speed sensors. Exact thing happened to me and my dad after rebuilding the cyl. head. We had the connectors switched. We tried all kind of stuff to get spark. Nothing worked until we simply switched the connectors
