On the 951? The 951 does not have a 'memory'. There is nothing to reset.

yes, on the 951. any other takers? i think rogue is correct.

still trying to sort another problem and i thought that *IF* the computer were 'reset'....

Rogue_Ant 09-28-2009 06:59 PM

I know I'm correct ;)
The DME does not have any non-volatile memory, besides the EPROM (which the DME can't change the code).

What kind of issues are you having?

nynor 09-28-2009 07:40 PM

failed emissions. high CO and high HC. which is EXACTLY the opposite of what i expected. i was expecting high NOx.

i think my air filter was plugged.

Rogue_Ant 09-28-2009 09:27 PM

How old is your O2 sensor?

nynor 09-28-2009 09:51 PM

two years, i think. at most, three years.

i pulled the k&n air filter and it was very dirty. i cleaned it and re-oiled it. back to the IM station tomorrow.

nynor 09-29-2009 03:03 PM

i checked the voltage coming from the O2 sensor: .3V at idle, dropping to .15 or so revved. i thought it was supposed to be around .8V at idle. can someone confirm?

Rogue_Ant 09-29-2009 03:04 PM

Hmm, O2 should cycle once the car is warmed-up and in closed-loop. It should cycle around .5v when in closed-loop.

Might have a bad O2.

nynor 09-29-2009 07:53 PM

yeah, i think it might be bad. i'll be replacing it tomorrow.

nynor 10-01-2009 03:05 PM

new O2 sensor reads .9V at idle and heated up. the 951 passed emissions, with significantly better numbers.

Good news!

Conversely, you could say that it gets reset every time the ignition is turned off.

Eh - semantics. The 951 does not have a 'fuel trim' or other resident memory feature...

Looks like, technically speaking, you got me on that one. What can I say? - nice job!
