location, location, location
yes, that's the topic. Looking for the easiest area (hopefully around the back of the cylinder head) to route my lines for my MBC. what has everyone else done? drilled holes through the firewall or used stock locations?
just looking for the simplest route to under the radio for my mbc

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, my kid found a hole with other electric lines going through the firewall in back of or around the battery and stuffed his lines through that hole.

Use an extended banjo bolt to add more ports on the intake manifold. I have the later intake with 2 ports on it, your '86 unless replaced will only have 1. You can get an extra factory 2 port banjo bolt or a 4 port that LR makes... look here for a better explanation
http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/944INTAKEMANIFOLDMISC.html You can trace the red vacuum lines to where they pass through the firewall using the factory holes / grommets... just note i have a dual port wastegate so i have a few extra lines, but you get the idea. ![]() You can then run the lines through a grommet in the battery tray area.. ![]() Take the glove box out and you will see right where they enter the cabin, ![]() And you have a nice routing to the center console.. ![]()

thanks guys...just got done today installing my tial dualport and sorta have the lines under the hood for now. will try later this week to get it routed. glove box easy to drop techno? never done it before but looks simple.
car pulls very nicely now and the boost onset is perfect.......but 1 mile before my driveway, it hit a raccoon. poor thing. luckily no damage is done, can't say the same for the coon. but now i have a leaking #2 injector. guess i'll be buying some o-rings and fix it after i pull the intake.

Yep, very easy to take out. I personally like to put the boost controller in the glove box. Still easy to access yet not so easy that you will be messing around with it all the time.

Or behind the brake booster. There's a rubber grommet there with some wires going to the cabin.

i did get my lines routed, thanks guys, pulled the glovebox and went that way.
another question, never really played with a boost controller, so an open mbc=less boost and one that is fully closed = more/most boost, right? this is with a 38mm dualport tial.
