my 951s wiring is shot...

so, i have a 1986 951 project car and i definitely need to replace my wiring. the negative lead from the battery is cracked and showing lots of bare metal, and the main wiring harness (to all of the sensors) is suspect and i'd rather replace it to be safe.

i am not considering used wiring, but i was wondering what experience people have with the various aftermarket or OEM kits.

the car will be used for occasional street and track days, but not daily driving.

thanks!

shane

If it is the NEGATIVE lead that is showing bare copper, that's really not so much of a problem, because it is at the same electrical potential as the chassis, but I would still at least tape it up. But if changing the WHOLE harness is no big deal for you, more power to ya!

it's not just the negative lead, the positive ones are cracking as well. the wiring harnesses (sensors and injectors) are suspect as well.

since i'm running 15psi, and plan on using this car for HPDEs, heat protection is definitely something i'm interested in.
