Driving a 951 with a Cat Delete, Boost Enhancer, 3.0 BAR FPR, and 951 MAX Chips I had issues keeping up with those pesky Corvettes, nowadays having a great set up which consists of the following: 61-1, 55# Injectors, LR MAF, 46mm Tial WG, Cat Delete, built cylinder head, 3.0 BAR FPR, 951 MAX Chips, and a few other odds and ends, it seems like base Corvettes are a problem of the past
I was headed south on the highway with no traffic to keep me entertained on my way to see some old friends when I saw a bright yellow C6 Corvette with a black stripe behind me. He got close enough to read the back of my car, down shifted and stomped on the gas. Admiring the roar of the big V8 I just let him go thinking nothing of it. Curiosity got the best of me, I really wondered how I would line up with a car of its status as a flag ship from a roll. I figured in my head that he would smoke me based on the results at the drag strip. About 3-4 miles later I caught back up, only this time I was passing him. With clear roads ahead and no cop stops for miles! As soon as I got in the other lane to pass him he down shifted and matted it, immediately I down shifted to 3rd gear at 60mph and floored it. Beyond my belief i passed him a few seconds later and was putting a good amount of road between the two of us. Looking at my speedometer I decided to lift off the gas and coast to highway speeds. He slowed down a bit then stomped on the gas right next to me, with no traffic on the road I down shifted and caught back up. We both slowed down, he signaled me to follow him off the next exit. I followed him and we BS'ed talking about the rivalry between Corvettes and Porsche 911's and the fact that he never though a little 1980's Porsche 4 cylinder Turbo would ever have a chance to keep up let alone walk away from his state of the art 6.2L. He clarified that his Corvette is powered by a stock LS3 engine. It was wrong of us to do that on a public road but curiosity got the best of me and traffic was non existent, the conditions couldnt have been any better for such a meeting. Next in the cross hairs is that infamous Z06 ![]()

Great story! Who would of thought a little 80's four cylinder turbo would be viewed from the rear - priceless!! It's tough to beat the performance per dollar ratio of the 951. Thanks for representing us with the Corvette crowd.

Thanks guys, Im glad to have a quality kill in a straight line, at the local tracks I do very well against muscle cars but I had no clue how it would go from a roll.

951 says: The roll is OUR advantage! The higher the starting roll, the better. I believe we also have close to a 500lb weight advantage over a vette. I wonder what the hp rating of an LS3 is though. I know LS7 is 500, LS9 is 600, & LT1 is 270, but that's about it.
