Looking to get a set of 55# injectors, is disc type the way to go?
I'm looking at a set of brand new Siemens (deka) 55# fuel injectors (part# 3102, 2.5 ohms, disc type) that I can get for $230. But before I make the purchase, I want to run it by those who know more about injectors for a 951(S), if they are the way to go, and what my alternative options would be.
Are these the ones to go with? Does anyone have a good working used set of these, or other compatible, 55# fuel injectors for sale?

Those are now discontinued ~55# injectors... Which is probably why you can find them at that price - everyone is trying to get rid of their stock of them.
The spray pattern sucks - they have a "pencil" spray pattern, which is fine for WOT, but will have reduced idle / part-throttle quality compare to a set of injectors with a decent spray pattern. The 55# Delphi injectors are a better way to go, they have a ~20° spray pattern cone.

That figures. But for me, it's still a repectable chunk of change that they are asking for them. So I guess I'll be looking for a used set, if decent ones cost more than that. Now this revelation puts me back into a holding pattern (again). Ironically, I thought that I had read somewhere that disc type injectors are better than the pintle type BECAUSE they provide better idle/part throttle quality, precisely the opposite of what you are saying. Am I the only one that this happens to?

The disc type typically have a little bit less dead-time, which does help in idle & part-throttle. However the spray patter is more important. And those Siemens don't have nearly as good of a spray pattern as the Delphis. Will the Siemens work? Yes, but for that price, find a set of Delphis.

It's a done deal. I just just purchased the delphis, and paid quite a bit less for them than I would have for the siemens, to boot! Got 'em for a buck 60 with shipping, as opposed to two 40 with shipping, for the siemens'. You saved me $80, and I got the better product. Thanks, Rogue.
