944 Engine Differences

I am considering the purchase of a 1987 Porsche 944 with a 2.5 litre engine. I had a 911 before, but I was wonder what the difference in engine components is between a turbo charged 944 and one that is not (other than the turbo charger or course)

So it looks like the pistons and shaft are different?

There are other differences also, such as the turbo head having sodium filled exhaust valves.
