Solid (not blinking) "code" from KLR?
I hooked an LED to the KLR diagnostics plug after driving around the block a few times and then idling. I'm getting only a SOLID light without any blinking.
Not sure what this means, as the codes listed on Lindsay Racing don't mention a solid light "code". I should mention that my dashboard warning lights also never leave their "test" state while the car is running (ie, they are all on, all the time). I am mentioning this because I'm wondering if it could in fact be a faulty ignition switch -- could a faulty ignition switch keeping the dash in "test" mode also cause a solid lite "code" to be displayed from the KLR diagnostic plug? |
bad wiring? are you sure you plugged the LED into the right connectors?

Right connectors, right polarity.

I get the solid "blink" only when the TPS is disconnected. Other than that, I've never seen it actually blink a code.
Don't forget that the DME on these cars is OBD0 (there are no on-board diagnostics, other than through the proprietary connector, which doesn't use standard OBD signals). So if there IS a TPS issue, you aren't going to see any dash light come on. Maybe the KLR code list should be updated to include that a steady-on light incicates a bad (or disconnected) TPS. That IS assuming that MINE is working correctly. Can anybody confirm this? |
Hey clay, did you try re-seating the TPS connector, visually inspect the wires, and test the TPS with an ohm meter? I think the procedure for that is on clark's. If not, try the944.
