datalogging. the left and right values for each of the four graphs are user-defined/selectable;

the ignition map. notice that you can move/rotate the graph to be able to see it from any angle;

since it can use .csv files, you can also make your own pretty graphs in excel;

Cool.

Curious what kind of IAT temps do you hit a full boost......and what is your outside temp?

you can see from the graph that intake air temps go from 25c to 40c during a full boost run.

i can't tell what the outside temp is yet, as i don't have a sensor installed for that, and the stock 951 does not come with such a sensor from the factory.

Hehehehe.... I know every sensor intimately...... so you are correct no outside temp sensor.

I wanted to see what your ambient temp is compared to the drop in IAT.

So are you wearing shorts?

or a fluffy winter jacket?

Seattle area has been in the low 50's at mid-day lately.

Peter, nice setup. Impressive.

i'm actually going to install a sensor to monitor outside air temperature, just so i can datalog it for tuning purposes.

i need to figure out where to mount it.

Could you mount it inside the driver's side fender, near where the snorkel for the stock intake goes? That should be close to ambient.

Mount it pointing outside of your hood, and put a fake pin through it.

Then you could have hood pin latches like the hondas!

15-20 hp!

i like the inside driver's fender idea, as that's exactly where the air is coming in from anyway.

Very cool - did you buy this one from Lindsey?

I've been considering going this route on my Callaway car, but have concerns about the plug-and-play capability with an early car. Could probably figure it out, but it could also turn into a huge PITA.

How's the overall tunability? Built-in boost control or independent EBC/MBC?

He bought it from a local wolf3d dealer

But I'm sure lindsey's kit will set you up good

like pozican said, i got it from a local wolf3d dealer called random ems, you can check their website and ask for bob and tell him peter referred you. i don't get any perks, but he'll know what i have. website is here;
http://www.randomems.com/

as far as i know, plug-and-play capability is universal for all 924, 944, 951, and 968 models. it's also available as plug-and-play for 911 models, though i'm not sure which models are all covered. you can call and ask him specifics, and he can tell you over the phone, or send him an email.

overall tunability is excellent. as far as i've been able to tell via comparisons to other systems, nothing comes close to the number of variables you can tune on the wolf3d.

as an example, it has built-in boost control that's EBC and, out-of-the-box, it allows you to adjust boost based on (off the top of my head);
1) engine temperature
2) intake air temperature
3) engine rpm
4) ambient air pressure
5) intake air pressure
6) air/fuel ratio
7) lambda value (this is different from afr!)
8) fuel pressure
9) knock (yes, you can pull boost if knock is detected just like the stock dme+klr, i haven't found any other aftermarket ems that can do this)

if you add an exhaust temperature sensor, you could even adjust/compensate boost based on that. because it has the ability to use additional custom sensors/inputs, the number of variables you can tune with/for is limited to your imagination.

Incredibly, incredibly cool.... but way over my head, I'm afraid.

Geezus, that's incredible. I'd been honing in on a TEC-3 but this looks even superior to that in terms of overall functionality. I'm going to do more homework on this.

What's the resolution (AxB) of the fuel maps?

Stock number of cells I beleive...

1024?

At any rate, amazing system, plenty of features

yes, the number of cells is 1024. however, that's based on the motor revving up to 8k rpm. if you can rev the motor up to 15875rpm you could have 2048 cells.

also, i've learned that the number of cells is not the important factor, as that usually remains the same across all systems for the same motor. the important factor is how you can actually tune those cells after you input the fuel values. this is commonly referred to as 'fuel modifiers'. on the wolf, you can tune for;

1) post start enrichment rate (for starting/cranking)
2) transient enrichment rate based on (generally you want more fuel on acceleration)
a-accel load
b-accel rpm
c-accel engine temp
d-accel decay rpm
3) transient enleanment rate based on (generally you want less fuel on deceleration, to assist in engine braking)
a-decel load
b-decel rpm
c-decel decay rpm
4) overrun fuel cut (controls when to cut the fuel)
5) staged fuel injection (note the stock 951 system doesn't support this, but you can mod it to support it)
a-percentage load
b-percentage rpm
6) engine temperature compensation (so if it's hot, you can use less fuel, and more fuel if it's cold, or vice-versa)
7) intake air temperature (cold intake air? use more fuel for more power!)
8) battery voltage compensation (battery/alternator weak? use more fuel!)
9) user-definable external trim (you can use this for whatever, extra sensor for the exhaust to compensate fuel for exhaust temperature, etc.)

note that each one of these variables have sub-variables. for example, overrun fuel cut has ten variables within it;
1) activate (on/off)
2) active below throttle position (percentage value)
3) inactive above throttle position (percentage value)
4) active above engine temperature (numeric value)
5) inactive below engine temperature (numeric value)
6) active above rpm (numeric value)
7) inactive below rpm (numeric value)
8) recover fuel pulse activate (on/off)
9) recover fuel pulse count (numeric value 0-255)
10) recover fuel pulse addon (numeric value in milliseconds)

so you can see there are literally hundreds of different values that you can use that further affect each individual fuel cell, based on other conditions.
