Does the exhaust manifold for the 1984 Porsche 944 NA have the same bolt pattern as the 1985/5 Turbo? For instance can I use the turbo manifold off of the newer turboed cars on my NA 944 to turbo it? Thanks!

I opened a post in our forums. A Pelican community member may be able to answer your question.

Yes, the block bolt/stud pattern is the same for the NA and the Turbo.

Beware the next question you ask: "How do I Turbo my NA?"....

944 Turbo Frequently Asked Questions

"The 944 Turbo or 951 (internal factory designator) made its international debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March 1985. Around 176 cars were released for the European market in 1985 with the first cars for the US being released in the 1986 model year. Even before the first 944 Turbo debuted at Geneva, a pre-production 944 Turbo competed at and won the 24-Hour endurance race at Nelson Ledges in June 1984."

so, i suppose it is possible.

btw, the Turbo in a 951 is on the Driver's side, connected to the Exhaust Manifold with a 'Crossover' double walled Pipe, so really, the Exhaust Manifold is of little help.

you could always try to find a calloway kit for your NA. that would be serious fun, IMO.

My 951 is an early 1985 model. (Cant remember the date exactly) I'm pretty sure it was an Australian delivered model too. Like Nynor said, there isn't many around
