New 944 turbo project car

I have been out of the 951 game since 2004-ish.

I bought this car ==>

Porsche 944 Coupe | eBay

I plan on using it as a 1/2 DE 1/2 street car. I'll try and update this thread as I go through the car and straighten it out. I will be back to post pics of the work as I complete it.

Thanks! It definitely has some issues though... Pads are cooked, tires are the original 2004 PS2s that are so dry rotted you can stick toothpicks in the cracks. Rear shocks are marginal, front struts are blown out. Control arms are severely worn, the entire power steering system is pissing fluid, and the AC bracket is busted along with the adjustment rod. Some of wiring also needs straightening out. Cylinder head temp sensor is dead, exhaust is plumbed so it can be as loud as possible, and the car needs paint. The good thing is the engine is dead nuts on, I performed a cold compression & leakdown test and came back with 140-141 on all cylinders with 1-1.5% leakdown. The transmission has had an S2 R&P installed and I found a MSD ignition box next to the DME & KLR floating loosely beneath the passenger foot-well carpet. Lots of receipts for lots of expensive and well sorted parts... I'll post pics later this evening along with my boost gauge relocation project.

nice project.

I had same intent when I found my project 951. DE/street car to replace my 85 911 I retired from DE and reverted to street/pleasure driving.

just got mine done. good luck finishing yours.

Ordered a bunch of hard parts for this car - coil-overs for all 4 corners, new tires, new brake rotors / pads, bushings, control arms, all new power steering components, etc... while I was waiting for all of my parts to come in I decided to occupy myself with a few projects to straighten out some things on the car from folks who were in there before me... Enjoy the pics I'll be back to share some more later.
