Can it really be this easy to disable the immobilizer?
Yes! After much experimentation, I've discovered a way to disable the immobilizer in my 97 993 that doesn't require any mods to the ECU, Immobilizer, Alarm unit or start relay bypass. Just a 15 minute DIY. FOB functionality is preserved and the mod is easily reversible.
I'm trying to gauge the interest in this as a product as well as solicit comments and suggestions before proceeding. |

Will garner more interest in the rennlist forum and possibly the 993 Facebook group. As a mod, it is is a mixed need. If broken, then "something" will need to be done to drive the 993, but as an annoyance, then you have the balance of the annoyance vs the security factor and the minor detail of INS premiums, as one probably gets a slight INS discount for having a car alarm (until it is disabled). Will it work on a '96 and '98? Is it "plug and play" as a DIY, how much for the "product"? If selling, then what is the warranty and assurance that it will not damage those very expensive (and some rare) 993 components?
