Here is sunny California we have a law for smogging all 96 and newer OBD2 equiped cars. This law states that no more than 3 "non-continuous monitors" can be 'incomplete'

How about the runway at LAX, just kiddin'.
You may need to try it late at night on 5 or 405 heading out of the city.

Jeremy
I had the same frustrating problem. It seems almost impossible to activate the codes on your own since they require multiple repeated runs or the codes are cleared and you must start all over. Since this is technically an emissions problem, it may be covered under your warranty under the extended emissions warranty (7 years I believe). After attempting it myself, I brought it to a local Porsche dealer in TX who, after driving the car for 90 miles, said they were half way there. I quickly asked for the car to be returned. I then brought the car to a much more knowledgeable dealer who was able to activate all codes (while using the OBD scanner) after a half hour. They did not even charge for the service. I would suggest bringing the car to a dealer who is willing to use the ODB scanner while driving the car. The exact procedures are available via TSB. Good luck Jim |

Thanks Jim. I spoke to a local dealer, and they had a suggestion. Go drive the car for 2 weeks and try it again! Some help they were.
