Installing a PCCM unit in a '93 964
Trying to install a PCCM unit in a 1993 964. The car does not have the M490 option and according to Porsche, the replacement speaker kit is only suitable for cars that have the M490 option.
Any recommendation for replacement front speakers? 6" lower and 3.5" upper. Note: The under seat amplifier has been removed. |

Are you installing the porsche classic pccm Part no. 91164559000 ?
I see no reason why you need to change speakers unless they are broken or you want to upgrade |

Yes That Head Unit was installed in the car last week and is operating the replacement Pioneer speakers in the rear deck. The factory front speakers are blown (outer ring completely disintegrated). Trying to source speakers (lower 5.25 and upper tweeters) to work with PCCM and be able to maintain the stock speaker grill covers. The bottoms one clips on the tweeter screws on.
Porsche has been ZERO help with this. Very frustrating ! |

If keeping the 5.25 speaker covers is paramount, you can refoam the outer ring on the speakers.

That's an excellent suggestion Jeff. Called a local speaker business today. They came out, removed the speakers and I believe they are going to re-cone them.
