964 Rear bumper loose
Hey,
So I was just cleaning the engine bay when I noticed that the rear bumper was making a squeaking sound when I moved it. I noticed that there was one self tapper missing under the bumper to a metal plate. It helped things but not totally as you can see in the video. Any idea's or do I have to remove the whole bumper? https://youtu.be/ojS-wMMLfEo Regards Alex |

I'd get on my back and look upwards inside the rear bumper on both sides and wiggle it while there...might be obvious then. Could be that the bumper had beeen removed in the past and when re-assembled someone was not careful in putting back all the attaching hardware.

Engine electric blower pipe not fitting correctly
Hey,
Let me just stress I am a total newbie as this is my 1st ever Porsche so some terms or questions may seem a bit stupid but please bare with me. So the car had a service and everything was checked before I bought the car, but seems to be somethings were missed. As I hope you can see from the picture that the hose has a gap in it when it ws clamped with the jubilee clip. Could this have caused any issue with the running of the car? Is there anything I need to be aware of when removing this to correct the issue? Regards Alex ![]() |

That clamp and that small gap is fairly common and has no impact on how the car runs, it’s strictly part of the heating system. The fan connected to this does provide some engine cooling so gaps do reduce the efficiency but overall it wouldn’t impact how the car runs, just the temp.

Hey,
Is it difficult to remove and fit correctly, or just leave it as is? Cheers Alex |

Once the plastic piece has taken that shape I don’t believe you will be able to correct it easily, it would require you to likely heat it up and reshape it and then let it set. Hopefully someone else has also run into this issue and can comment if there’s a fix.

Somehow this thread got mixed up, so I will continue with the Loose rear bumper as the thread was meant to be.
So I jacked up the car to get a better look and it seems that there is a Aluminium plate which I presume is a heat shield is loose. I am no expert but my assumption is that the plate is bolted, but the holes have increased in size and the bolt is no longer holding it. Or is it meant to be like that? Here is a video https://youtu.be/jv1pn77DNYM Here is a picture. Where ever is a bolt through the length of the plate is also the same. ![]() If this is broken is this common and what is the fix other than buying a new one? Is it just to pop rivet a plate over the hole? Cheers and thanks as always Alex |

I don"t know what " the fix " is other than buying new but it looks like under a dollar's worth of USA fender washers would secure it ..... $10 if you use german washers

Hey,
Cheers for your comments and it doesn't seem, or at least I can't see any cracks in it. Pretty weak design in my opinion and I would expect it to have some thicker plate in those areas. I have asked this question in another forum, but does it require the bumper to come off? I did notice that a couple of the brackets at the back of the bumper are loose as well. Cheers Alex |

So I started to look in to this and started the process of taking the bumper off, but just kept scratching my head as one article said remove the heatshied to get the bumper off..
So stupid question, but to get the bumper off do you need to remove the heat shield 1st? Well I stoped removing the bumper and turned my attention to get those damn 4 bolts out. So far 2 done and I will add new "Repair washers" in place of the old ones which I think will hold it. Anyhow any advice or suggestions would be great. Cheers Alex |
