Releasing factory alarm/central locking

Hi,
Central locking works well but it doesn't always release the factory alarm leading to a dead ignition.
The driver door lock doesn't work using the key whereas the passenger door does and releases the factory alarm.
I'm unsure if this is a mechanical, electrical or joint issue.
Any advice will be greatly received.
