Our dealer here in Buffalo, NY said they will not work on a Porsche more than 10 years old.

That’s funny. I wouldn’t buy a Porsche unless it was 25 years old. I guess we weren’t meant to have a customer/retailer relationship.

I just went through 18 hours of figuring out the complicated US IMMObilizer system on the 993TT. It is a US headache. I stick with the 964's just because of these reasons. None of the complications or special kinematic tools needed for rear wheel alignment. No undo CEL lights from the air injection which I have been able to fix with piano wire and a lot of foul language.

I personally prefer the CIS cars over the later motronic but these are all things you will need to brush up on before making your decision.

On an OBD1 993 eliminating the immobilizer is easy
you need a factory relay in the central electric repalced and a chip designed to no read the immobilizer signal
read this
OBD2 needs the same relay but flashing the CPU is much harder

I bought a KTS 300 kit when I was touring Europe. Batteries can be a problem, NOT AA, found some in Norway.

It's a lot of fun to play with, much better than the aftermarket stuff that I Bought and gave away. The Hammer can just about read the whole car, cool.
