Engine mount leak / replacement with RS?
Hi Everyone,
I just jacked my 993 up by the engine case, which I have always done. Oil leaked out of the bottom of the engine right away. I was a bit shocked, as I had pulled in from a 300 mile drive previously and this is how I parked it. Some investigation into the fluid made me suspicious of it not being engine oil, mainly the smell and it was very dirty. It also leaked very high next to the oil tank, so I was able to trace it to the RH engine mount. Crazy how much fluid came out, I'd say half a quart. I also see that the exhaust tip almost touches the bumper, so it all makes sense. Unless you tell me otherwise, I think this is the engine mount and I should replace them. I am always interested in upgrading (the car has RS bits already), so looking at RS engine mounts. Which ones do you recommend? Thanks, George |

Factory RS are perfection. I have a set of new Wevo’s but didn’t install and went with RS instead. V happy

Thanks for the input! I ordered the RS mounts (from the URO aftermarket brand), should be in in a couple weeks and I'll report back!

Put the mounts in, it took about a hour time. I drove about 1k miles since, very happy with them. Things are a bit louder in the cabin, but not bad (I already have no sound deadening pad and a modified air cleaner li). Another positive note is that there is noticeable more precise shifting.
Thanks for the input! G |

Thanks for the feedback. I was planning on the RS mounts for mine too when the time comes. For now my original mounts are still good.
