993 brake pads...

Will Metal Masters squeak? I know there are few brake pads for the 993 which do not squeak. Since I drive mine a LOT more on the street than I will on the track, I want something quiet. I'm leaning toward MM, unless someone can talk me out of it.

Not sure about MM, but I had really bad experiences with Hawk Blues. I went through two sets and they were incredibly loud; I mean like unbelievably embarassingly loud squealing EVERY time you put your foot on the brake pedal. As far as I was concerned unusable for street in terms of noise. Plus the dust is so corrosive, it makes a rock-like brown residue that does not come off with any conventional means.

I know about the Hawks. I test drove a 993 with them and said no thanks.

Come to think of it I did use MM once on the old 3.2 Carrera. Mostly street but a few track days. I recall they burned up VERY fast on the track and crumbled apart. I'm not sure if the larger pads for 993 will alleviate this factor.

Never used them on a 911 but had them on my last V8Q. Very nice street pad. Low dust, no squeek. Pagid Blue is another good choice.
