Some questions on sensors
What sensors would be the best fit for my setup? I will be using a MOTEC M48PRO ECU on a 1977 930 and was wondering if anyone can give me some input on this subject.
Here are my needs…. 1. TPS (for a ford 5.0L Style TB), is there something better than stock? 2. Engine Temp sensor. I have been told to use a head temp sensor. My car was not equipped with one. Is there a way of adapting one to it? And if so what sensor should I use? Do I need to machine the heads? The engine is still apart so this would not be a problem. 3. Intake Air temp sensor. What sensors work best? Where is the best place to mount it? I am using a 3.2 Manifold. 4. 300 kPa MAP Sensor. Is the GM style sufficient? 5. BARO sensor (108kPa atmospheric reference). Is this really needed? Does the MAP sensor work ok without this? 6. Crank Position sensor. I was thinking of using the Clewitt unit, any other options? 7. Cam Sync sensor. I will be running full sequential injectors and will need to install a sync sensor. I have seen information about a sensor installed in the right cam cover by Dave Capurro of C&C Fuel injection. GarrickL had this done on his car and I am curious of how well it works for him. 8. Wheel speed sensors? Again my car predates any factory sensors for this. What would be the best method to adapt these? I plan on installing BIG Reds in the future. Would this upgrade make the addition of the sensors easier? 9. Are there any other sensors I should be worrying about? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |
