Porsche Crest 996 as an EVERY day car

hi there

im using my 996 c4s EVERY single day it has about 40 thousand km...does it need any extra service coz i use it everyday?? (i take in for service every 10thousand km..one major the other minor)
has anyone rebuild a 996 engine YET?? what km should i expect before the rebuild?

i havent done any work on the car myself and DONT think i will EVER...i enjoy driving it more than knowing how things work so ur help on this query would be much abliged ( althogh i dream of restoring a 356 or early 911 some day im only 23 now so i have time)

The 996 motors are so inexpensive new that I don't think they are cost effective to rebuild.

A couple of years ago I was at the dealer and saw a 996 motor on the floor. The owner had put a hole in the bottom somehow. The parts guy told me it cost less than $11K to replace. I can't remember if that was just the motor or labor also.

Hi
You should change oil / filter more often at every 5000km. I dont know about the air filter but my guess is that it wouldnt last more than 10000km if its so dusty.
